Meet Steve

I have a serious passion for rare frangipanis—and a highly questionable relationship with restraint.

I’ve never met a frangipani I couldn’t justify making room for—although some purchases require a little more creative accounting than others.

What began as my appreciation for a beautiful summer flower became a full-blown pursuit of rare cultivars, exotic imports and the kind of cuttings collectors whisper about after dark.

I grow them, graft them, study them and wait—sometimes patiently—for each new bloom to reveal what it has been hiding.

I give every cultivar its own personality, because “pink with a yellow centre” is hardly a proper introduction.

I write their stories with a wink, a little temptation and just enough mischief to make botanical obsession sound entirely reasonable.

Behind the storytelling, I do the serious hands-on work: sourcing, propagating, observing colour, form and fragrance, and learning what each plant needs to thrive in Perth conditions.

My collection keeps growing, my restraint remains questionable, and I can always find room for one more rare arrival.

Frangis After Dark is where I let that passion come out to play.
