Red Manic does not bloom politely. She detonates.

Deep crimson drama, cheeky flashes of pink and petals that twist like they have just heard excellent gossip: she is not built for quiet corners.

Steve's archive gives her the right warning label. Wild, euphoric and absolutely causing a scene, Red Manic has the kind of garden presence that makes subtlety file a complaint.

There is no soft-focus innocence here. She is colour, curl and theatre arriving all at once.

Red Manic is now out of the unidentified pile and into The Black Book, with the cultivar identity approved and the formal source trail still being sharpened.

She deserves better than a fading marker.

I label every plant in my collection with tags made by my son Brock at BrockMark. He permanently laser-engraves them into weatherproof anodised aluminium, finishes each one with a stainless-steel wire loop and checks the spelling before the plants are left to defend their own identities.
