Nui Orange Caramel looks like it escaped a dessert cabinet and decided the garden was a better address.

Her blooms layer peachy blushes, golden glow-ups and rich raspberry ripples, each flower wearing the sort of colour that makes restraint feel terribly overrated.

There is warmth in her, but not the quiet kind. This is caramel with a little theatre: soft, glossy and just dangerous enough to make visitors lean in twice.

She has the easy tropical confidence of a cultivar that knows exactly how good she looks in afternoon light.

Nui Orange Caramel is sweet, yes, but not innocent. She is dessert with a waiting list.

Her name, written in metal

She deserves better than a fading marker.

I label every plant in my collection with tags made by my son Brock at BrockMark. He permanently laser-engraves them into weatherproof anodised aluminium, finishes each one with a stainless-steel wire loop and checks the spelling before the plants are left to defend their own identities.
