George Brown enters The Black Book from a bright Australia Day post, already performing like he knew there was a crowd.

Steve's 2021 archive places this cultivar in his own backyard, throwing warm bronze, peach and cream tones into the Perth summer light.

The post is brief, but useful: a named cultivar, a dated collection record and a dedicated set of photographs from the same backyard display.

She deserves better than a fading marker.

I label every plant in my collection with tags made by my son Brock at BrockMark. He permanently laser-engraves them into weatherproof anodised aluminium, finishes each one with a stainless-steel wire loop and checks the spelling before the plants are left to defend their own identities.
