Diana appears in the archive just as the season is meant to be cooling its manners, and then proceeds to bloom anyway.

Steve's 2021 Facebook post names her simply as Diana (Plumeria), with a few blooms heading into autumn and a generous set of photographs to back the moment.

The flowers move through soft pink, warm apricot and golden centres, giving the page enough visual evidence to record her properly while the formal cultivar background is still being chased.

This is a conservative dossier: the archive proves the name used in Steve's collection and the observed bloom set, not the whole external provenance story.

Diana is polished without being prim: soft, bright and very aware that autumn was supposed to have the last word.

She deserves better than a fading marker.

I label every plant in my collection with tags made by my son Brock at BrockMark. He permanently laser-engraves them into weatherproof anodised aluminium, finishes each one with a stainless-steel wire loop and checks the spelling before the plants are left to defend their own identities.
