Diamond Rose is the kind of cultivar that looks polite for about half a second.

Then the crimson, rose-pink and golden centre start doing their slow-burning romance routine and the whole garden loses concentration.

Steve noted she was far more impressive than expected, a proper surprise once she showed what she was carrying.

The petals open with soft warmth but enough saturated edge to keep her from drifting into predictable sweetness.

Diamond Rose is memorable in the best way: pretty first, then quietly impossible to forget.

She deserves better than a fading marker.

I label every plant in my collection with tags made by my son Brock at BrockMark. He permanently laser-engraves them into weatherproof anodised aluminium, finishes each one with a stainless-steel wire loop and checks the spelling before the plants are left to defend their own identities.
